Frieden - The Tree of Peace (1998) - 4 mins
This was Alina's first year student film at UCLA from many light years ago ... before I even existed! This film is donated to UNICEF, and has been showing at the New York Headquater since 1999. Below are links to the rough draft and final draft of the storyboard:

Congratulations! For the mood and content of this film, i believe nothing can move me like the handmade quality and human touch of of 2d-animation. Bravo.
minty tell alina out of all of em so far i like this one the best. great setup. and i can appreciate all the hard work and time spent creating all of these. Wonderfully done!
Dear Alina, thank you for that movie.
As I am from Germany, I was just wondering why you named it "Frieden" in the first part ..
All the best,
T. (@SC: PeterPen)
"Friden" is the name of the main character girl. My first year at UCLA, I has a German roommate. I want to give my little character a special name. So I ask my roomate, how do you say "Peace" in German. She said, "Frieden!" The word sounds so beautiful, so I decided to name the little character, "Frieden."
Plus the original story idea of this film is inspired by one of my favourite lullabies - Schlafe Mein Prinzchen. :)
That is another nice story going along with the wonderful one in the film.
Thank you for explaining it to me and coming alon my blog!
Now, you make me curious again: How did come up to that lullaby, then ;-) ?
Hello and sorry for my poor englis. When I saw "Frieden, the tree of peace" I in loved to the tree with the flowers, stars and moon at the begining of the film.
Since the moment I like to do on me a tatoo with this tree but I need a very good image or picture. Where can I find this image with high quality? or can you send me the image of the tree by email (martinpipas@gmail.com)?
Thanks for your films.
